“The Wedding” is a theatrical monologue by Greek playwriter Vassa Solomou-Xanthaki, directed and performed by Anna Vagena
The true story of a woman from Abelakia in Thessaly that bravely carried on her weak shoulders the weight of her own fate as well as the fate of thousands of women, wives and mothers of our land. She went through the brutality of an alcoholic father, saw the love of a man turn into contempt when she started giving birth to deaf mute children and gave her fight within the boundaries of a society that was hostile towards disabilities.
